Summer 2025: Who's excited about four weeks of camp?!
About Camp
Since 2014, The Broadway Intensive has partnered with the Pioneer High School Theatre Guild to present a summer camp for students interested in performing. Each year, we learn scenes, music, and choreography from a different Broadway show. This year, we've chosen two shows to study:
LEGALLY BLONDE and JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH!

Also new this year: we're excited to partner with Randazzo Dance Studio! Week 1 will take place entirely at Pioneer High School, but Weeks 2, 3, and 4 will spend the bulk of our time at Randazzo. We'll rehearse there Monday through Thursday to make use of the dance spaces, and we'll meet for our final day at Pioneer to utilize the big stage!

Each week, campers are grouped according to age, and groups rotate throughout the day, learning music, scenes, and dance. We're fortunate to have the help of University of Michigan Musical Theatre students as camp counselors and teaching assistants.

The week culminates in a group performance, featuring the work of all students!
About Us
Chelsea and Geoff Packard are Broadway actors on the faculty at the University of Michigan. Chelsea has performed on Broadway in WICKED, BEAUTIFUL (The Carole King Musical), PROMISES PROMISES, and HANDS ON A HARDBODY. Geoff has performed on Broadway in PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, ROCK OF AGES, MALTILDA, and BANDSTAND, as well as on the National Tours of PHANTOM and WICKED. Geoff recently finished working on the directing team of a new Broadway musical based on the music of Huey Lewis called THE HEART OF ROCK AND ROLL, which opened in April 2024!

Chelsea teaches private voice in the Musical Theatre Department at U of M, and Geoff teaches acting, directing, and performance classes in the Theatre and Musical Theatre Departments.

Currently, Chelsea is rehearsing the role of Elinor in SENSE AND SENSIBILITY the musical at the Encore Theatre in Dexter, MI. The show runs from February 27th until March 16th. Geoff is currently in rehearsals for the play A FEW GOOD MEN, which he is directing for U of M's Theatre Department. Performances run February 20th-23rd at the Power Center for the Performing Arts.

Fun fact: Chelsea has played roles in regional productions of both of our 2025 shows - she was Elle Woods in LEGALLY BLONDE and Miss Ladybug in JAMES AND THE GIANT PEACH.
